Why on earth would ND see their team full of NFL-bound players risk injury in a meaningless game? Has anyone watched a “bowl game” since 12-team playoffs started? Good decision. Other teams would have done it to if their conferences hadn’t foolishly obligated them.

I wouldn’t blame the NYT for this state of affairs. Leaders of other nations, our Congress, CEOs, universities, etc are all tiptoeing around to avoid angering Trump and counting the clock until he’s gone.

I expect the next Congress and the next Administration’s DOJ will look at these deals and the circumstances around them very carefully.
