Germany held the Nurnberg trials and purged former NSDAP henchmen and Nazi collaborators after the regime had fallen. Some day this might have to happen in the US too. MAGA is very similar to the NSDAP in many aspects. ICE and their agents would fit perfectly well in the ranks of the Gestapo.

Und es unterschlägt den Umstand, dass es manchmal schlimmere Schicksale geben kann, als den Tod. In einem russischen Gulag verrotten, weil man was Falsches gesagt hat, z.B. Oder noch unerträglicher: die eigenen Kinder.

Wer sich heute noch an die USA klammert, könnte morgen schon eine bittere Enttäuschung erleben. Der Plan muss auch ohne die USA aufgehen.

Because MAGA is a cult by now. Rationality is not necessarily part of their beliefs. Only when utter catastrophy visits each and every member of this cult personally they will start to reflect on their choices. And even then some will still believe in their Führer.
