The shading is just so *fun* on this guy! I love the posing. Like he is gripping with his hand and the claw is mimicking his movements. The shoulder pad does stick out here, but honestly, that is a fun level of contrast. I almost only used one metal color and I quickly realized that was a mistake! The bronze really looks great here!

Okay, so I fell in love with sponging as a technique.

I am so glad I picked up a 32 pack of makeup sponge wedges for under $2, because why not?

Let's take this to the next level!
I started with the green, and while I need some better control, it is BEAUTIFUL. The beautiful blends that came from literally just tapping a sponge and layering is AMAZING.

This is my 100th painted mini for the year!

He is Da Great Gold Git, more of a force of destruction for Da Dank Uns in Ghyran. He is an ancient grot that was consumed by da shroomz, but still lives to follow the Bad Moon!

I don't think he is *quite* done yet, but I have to think about how I would go about working on that part. The gold armor was deceptively easy. Gold with a purple wash, then reinforcing the recesses with brown and picking out the brightest spots with another gold. Pretty! He looted a screaming shield from the Kruleboyz, and loves to harass their fingas as they stalk their swamps! All of the weathering here was fun to play with, because I actually find doing that really hard!

I *had* to show that these guys were a part of the Raven/Outworlds Alliance *somehow*! While stamping was limited on them, I think it turned out pretty well here! I need to do more!

I tried doing the robes a bit differently here and I think they look okay, but not great. More cloth practice is needed! Where do I get that... Hmm... I always love these shields. The Captain with Relic Shield will be fantastic to paint too! Party in the front, business in the back? It is weird now much like an Intercessor this guy looks like from this angle. If we get more Neo-Volkite weapon options in the future, I'm going to have to redo my recipe. This one looks okay, but I need to build upon that. I want this thing to look white hot.

As I head into a week of vacation, I started it off right by building my Abaddon (mostly, at least the subassemblies) and kitbashing my Chapter Master!

I have my first game for this break tomorrow, then I will probably be painting and building a ton!

I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed putting Abaddon together! That was so nice! My Chapter Master was fun too, but more for the fact that I needed to dig for the right parts! I started with a base Jump Pack Captain. I wanted a power weapon and plasma pistol, but the kit options just weren't doing it for me! To the bits box! And that led to me chopping his arms to have a Stormcast spear and a Hellblasters plasma pistol, with switched hands! And of course I had to add a few gubbins!

This guy looks so freaking serious, doesn't he? This was my first attempt at barrel bluing. Though I have some Infernus Marines coming soon so I need to step up my game! Guh. That Tyranid arm guard was so fun to paint. Definitely the highlight of the model! I actually forgot to paint the blood on the knife when I was wrapping up! I started cleaning up and noticed that the blood was still painted white!

They were also rescues, and I think I did a decent job at cleaning them up! Definitely not perfect, but decent! There are 2 main things to learn with Stampin' Plates. The pick up and the placement! I'm hoping I eventually learn how to do this well!

Got these guys painted and varnished last night.

Today, I am going to attempt round 2 of stamp tests, then will probably give them their matte varnish layer, along with the rest of my painted models.

I don't post progress pics very often, but here is my one and only Sternguard squad!

I put a lot of work into them these last 2 days, and I'm really looking forward to finishing the painting work on them in my next session.

Then things will get interesting!
Normally the black, metallics, and purple would be done in lock-step, but the tabards necessitated a change in plans!

Hellblasters are super fun to me.

One fun part is that a box of them includes enough pieces to bash another 5 from the spare parts! It's for this reason that I have another 10 ready to build once I get through this painting spree.

I love the Primaris Intercessor. I love the sculpt. I love how interchangeable all the Tacticus bodies are. I love their current rules. I love using them in games, even when they aren't the ideal pick.

They are just fun!

I got out the airbrush tonight to get my next burst of Space Marines base coated. I figured I would get all of it done at once, rather than having to break out the airbrush each time I started a set.

19 Infantry bodies
2 HQs
2 Dreadnoughts

There's plenty more to go, but this is good for now.

The Impulsor may be a floating Rhino, but I really love the design language on it.

I'm a huge fan of the levitation tech and how it looks here. It is an easy kit to magnetize (if you aren't me). And it just looks more rugged than the Rhino.

This was my first major adventure in masking, with my Redemptor being my second. It was MUCH easier than the Redemptor though lol. I can't wait to get a second one of these or another SM tank. I could do much better with magnetizing it and I am happy to try again! The truck bed is weird to me, but I think it has grown on me. For a Guardsman? No, this isn't sufficient. But for a power armored Space Marine? Why not let them have the ability to jump in and out willy nilly? Next time, paint the inside BEFORE attaching the roof!

I finished this Space Marine Lieutenant for #40k recently!

This was my first major kitbashing project! It has given me some confidence to start trying to kitbash more minis, especially for my Gloomspite Gitz!

I'm glad that most of the base Space Marine bodies are mostly compatible! The cloak was my first real practice sculpting something specifically to show off! Most of the time, I'm filling gaps with the stuff! There were roughly 8 kits that went into this Lieutenant, including everything from old Terminators to Sanguinary Guard! I'm so happy to see this one done! Soon I will have to work on the Chapter Master!

I've taken a bit of a hobby break over the last fee days. but tonight, I decided to pick up some #gunpla and finish an old project.

I really love the IBO designs, and this Cyclase's Schwalbe Custom was my first gunpla kit! I don't know if I will ever really figure out posing, but I try!
Gotta say, this thing looks like a dancer with those heels! The rifle looks cooler to me than the twin carbines! But that axe is also freaking cool!

The Ghostkeel is done! This guy was more work than the other rescued T'au I've featured, but even with his LEAN, I still love him!

After 2 days, I've gotten these 21 Wardens through a stripping bath and cleaned them as far as I can.

It's weird. I never thought I would perform a mini rescue on my own projects.

Next up is this rescued Coldstar Commander! It is hardly recognizable from what I originally got. It originally had no weapons, was primed white, and looked like someone had started a Vior'la scheme.

Heck! It's arm was broken off and I had to remount it!

This project ended up being a Whole Thing (tm). I'm honestly surprised I was patient enough to complete it! At this angle, it is hard to tell, but that leg broke off four times while I was trying to mount the weapons. Investigating it, I found that this thing needed a TON of pinning and reinforcement. You can see it more on this model than the Stealth Suits, but I tried for a 2-3 tone paint job on them. That red still looks gorgeous and I can't wait to work with it more. The weapons came from a variety of kits! The missile pod and plasma rifle from a Broadside and the burst cannon from a Stealth Suit! The only original equipment on this thing was the optics on this booster, and I think that is a Battlesuit Support System.

I was able to finish up some outstanding projects this weekend!

These Stealth Suits were the first of several projects finished and oh boy am I proud of them!

I finished this fun little lance of 1st Long Road Legionnaires! I love these drybrush blending schemes and the deep blue of these Outworlders is fun to play with!

It's good to finally expand this force a bit. I've had a lance of these guys painted up for forever.

Soon we will have a company!
I love this scheme so much. The light blue to grey is subtle but gorgeous! I think I really enjoy the premium Wolverine. It and the Rifleman were the first two premiums I've painted and they were really fun! A nice break from the standard plastics!
