Liked me from the start

Immediately knew I was gay but loved me anyway

Somehow never knew I was gay until I told them

Took me aside privately to tell me they were an ally

Had to try very hard to grow to be comfortable around gays

Netflix "Boots" makes me reflect on being bullied by:

Closeted self-hating "straight" guys

Half-closeted gays uncomfortable with how out I am

Straight guys wanting any excuse to touch another man

Gays who didn't like that I wasn't a stereotype

Gays who thought I was too fem
