Sometimes I look at my old posts and cringe. I'm still cringe though, just in cooler ways now.

I love paleontology, science fiction, and women.
She/her
Just a random mindless doodle, completely nonsense, but I figured I should still post it since it's still me practicing art. So here you go the internet.

Day 16 of working to become a better artist. Took me about 50 minutes to draw this portrait of my beloved Sorawo Kamikoshi from Otherside Picnic. One of the better faces that I've been able to do on the fly, but they eyes are tough. The jawline also feels off to me.

There are so many options, but I always come back to this depiction of Edmontosaurus by Ely Kish. The way the water and stumps obscure the animal gives the piece a more naturalistic feel. It being in an environment as contemporary as a cypress forest makes it feel all the more real and tangible

Day 15 of working to become a better artist. Haven't done this in too long. Finished Ward a couple weeks back and though parts of it were rough, I really loved it a lot overall. Anyway here's a very very quick doodle of Sveta.

Day 14 of working to become a better artist. A quick portrait of a character of mine. Her name is Faith Malisent and she's a trans woman that ran away from home in a space opera setting. The proportions are kinda wack, but I think I'm getting better at faces.

Day 13 of working to become a better artist. Today's art is concept art for one my less developed story idea. The mood I want to capture is definitely partially there, but it's really held back by my poor grasp of lighting.

Day 12 of working to be a better artist. I worked on some other stuff too, but nothing finished, so here's a stream of consciousness drawing.

Day 11 of working to become a better artist. Nothing too fancy here, just a painting of a Coelophysis that I did in like 20 minutes and it shows. First time approached it by doing it all on one layer though, which was cool. One day I'll do a great Coelophysis, I think of it as a my benchmark taxon

The Tightpussy name has a surprising amount of reach in the right places

I don't know what this is. I just drew.

Day 10 of working to become a better artist. It's been too long since I did any art, just needed to do something. So anyway here's a quick portrait of Skitter from parahumans that I did in like 20 minutes.

Day 9 of working to become a better artist. Oh my goodness this took entirely too long, but I had this idea over the weekend and had to make it. There's a lot more that could be done, but I want to move on to something else, I did learn a lot about faces, perspective, and gestures though.

Hood down, Wretch out.

Day 8 of working to become a better artist. I have not yet finished Ward, but I've been wanting to draw Victoria Dallon in her Antares outfit. The spikes aren't super practical, but I love the look of armor over a hoodie.

Long time no post, but I guess here's day 7 of working to be better at art. Nothing special here, just a quick sketch of midnight in the Morrison Formation.

Oh shoot, I forgot alt text, reposted here with alt text.

Drawing and posting every day (or close to it (hopefully)) until I become a better artist - Day 6: Tattletale from the webserials Worm and Ward.

Doing a human instead of dinosaur, this took me a lot longer. I think it went decent, but the hands are too small and the hair is wonky.

Drawing and posting every day (or close to it (hopefully)) until I become a better artist - Day 5: Triceratops prorsus

No deep thoughts on this one, but pleased with how I'm doing.

Drawing and posting every day (or close to it (hopefully)) until I become a better artist - Day 4: Microraptor gui sitting

Probs my best looking work yet, the feathers were really fun to work with.

Drawing and posting every day (or close to it (hopefully)) until I become a better artist - Day 2: Saurolophus angustirostris head above a body of water with a turtle.

I wish I spent more time on this, but I'm pleased with how some of the shading turned out.

Drawing and posting every day (or close to it (hopefully)) until I become a better artist - Day 2: Stegosaurus Approaching a Cycad for Dinner.

Cool trying to add details manually instead of using a brush. The perspective and size references are way off. Also I have no clue how to do a background.
