The game features seven Archetypes, embodying classic horror movie tropes.

Scenes of extreme tension are resolved using The Scale, a modified Progress Clock that can be reduced by the dangerous element in a scene (called The Peril). Reflex Cards in the style of Free League's Year Zero Engine games determine turn order.

Also similar to FitD and PbtA, Risks have 3 possible outcomes: Success (Pass), Success with Cost (Price), and Failure (Perish). Price either reduces the effectiveness of an action, or injures the acting PC. Perish requires a PC to Flip a coin in order to find out whether or not they survive.

The core mechanism lifts a lot from Forged In The Dark, with 3 attributes (called Vitals) each connected to 4 actions (called Risks). The key difference is that your Vitals also double as your Hit Points, reducing as you sustain injuries. The more damage you take, the harder it is to succeed.

I know it's basic, but Batman has been my favorite superhero since I was in elementary school. He taught me at a young age that your circumstances don't define the person you become. You always have the choice to do good, no matter what bad things have happened to you.

I really wanna do a pirate game like this where each player's primary character is an officer on the ship and they switch between them and the pool of crew members.
