Finally COVID negative. I have no idea how people are just out there not wearing masks or mitigating the spread because even though I had a mild case, I never want that shit again and can’t imagine acting like it isn’t a big deal to get sick like that.

Getting sick isn’t a moral failure, but damn if it doesn’t suck to try and take every precaution to not get sick and you STILL catch COVID.

Don’t tell the rest of Philly, but I painted my nails green for the Celtic FC game that happened yesterday (they won 5-0!), not the Eagles - but they can still have the luck of the Irish (lineaged) today.

I’ve taken up a few new hobbies since I turned 40 in June. One is birdwatching / listening. I got a good monocular so now I can actually see the details on birds and it’s like seeing them for the first time since they’re always blurry with my vision. I love them so much.

Budgets are being depleted into the police, and the repercussions of not critically thinking that you might need other resources to keep people safe is really something. So is using incarcerated people to fight the fires cuz you cut the budget and pay them nothing for risking their lives.

To me, anarchy as an ideology is playing out as we watch those reclaim & rebuild. It’s a reaction to chaos and crisis, not chaos and terror itself. Organizing. Caring. Distributing. Really, it’s just a fancy way to say we are all connected & need one another to survive.
