I'm an older retired guy, over 65, who lives in Colorado. I love to hike and climb. I'm a trad climber as well as an ice climber. I especially like climbing in winter.

These days, I mostly solo trad and aid climb.

The new climate denial isn’t denial. It’s doubt dressed up as reason. “We don’t know everything” has replaced “it isn’t happening,” while ignoring what we do know: nature’s carbon sinks are collapsing, and so is our margin for error.

Climate Catastrophe?
or climate change as has existed for millenia?  Or something in between?

Republicans are in control of all three branches of government. Rpublicans care not for the working class when fighting for tax cuts for the rich at the expense of the working class. Republicans own the harm caused by the shutdown.

really can’t say enough about how mike johnson is a sniveling little coward of a man. a bayou-bred pushover with a dignity deficit that would embarrass renfield
Q: Do you agree that the mayor of Chicago and governor of Illinois should be in prison?

MIKE JOHNSON: Should they be in prison? I'm not the attorney general. I'm not following the day to day on that

Climbed on the Dimond on Longs Peak last weekend. Big fun. I was soloing so I didn't take many pictures.

Just took off my winter pick and put on my mixed pick and add. I put one hell of an edge on the picks. All set for some mixed ice and rock. Boy, my ice climbing picks took some abuse this year, still sharpenable, though.

I haven't been able to get out much this past month. The wife has been I'll. It felt especially good to get out today.

NEW: The rate of sepsis in Houston surged 63% after Texas banned abortion.

In the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where hospital leaders empowered doctors to intervene before patients’ conditions worsened, it rose just 29%.
Under Texas’ Abortion Ban, Where a Woman Lives Can Determine Her Risk of Developing Sepsis

I've set up my spring/summer climbing rack. It's so much lighter than my winter rack. It has no ice screws, only two snow pickets (not 5 like in winter), no snow suit, lighter 3-season tent, less clothing, and no hand axes.

I only have a half day to climb tomorrow, so I guess it's going to be Boulder Canyon. I'm lucky to have some much trad climbing so close to home.

It's still winter up high in Colorado. James peak is a good one day climb and ske down. This is from last week, though this week the weather has been sunny, with minor weather.

Spring is coming, but here in Colorado, it's not here yet.

I'm wondering what others use as their go-to ropes? I use the following:
Mammut crag alpine sender as main climbing rope,
Bluewater Xenon 9.2 as back up and haul line,
and lastly, Edelrid 8.6 for alpine use.

Switched to an Edilred 8.6mm Canery for my alpine rope. Tested it out yesterday, I love it.
