I'll defend my mistake and would've appreciated more indication this was an optional boss given its proximity to the main path. That's just personal preference that I'm accustomed to from other RPG's though! This felt like the Cleric beast which I wasn't expecting since this isn't a Souls game

I see that now but at the time I thought he was blocking my main path to the Indigo tree 😂 I even tried to run past him afterwards. I'm loving the game and don't mind if it takes me out of my comfort zone, I'm just not used to spikes to that degree on Normal mode in games

Phew, thanks you for confirming! I thought I must've messed up my progress because of the spike. I switched back to Normal right after beating him and then I level grinded Gustav and Luna in that same area. Some people might be fine with unexpected Bloodborne difficulty spikes on Normal but not me 😂
