Just spent a week visiting my mom in small town Iowa. The fire department in that town posted this over on fb. They literally saved a cat in a tree. It doesn't get more small town stereotypical than that.

I'm in small town Iowa this week visiting my mom in nursing care after a fall. Didn't make it to a No Kings protest but did experience a ton of queer joy at the Des Moines Gay Men's Chorus concert.

I got blocked by a random stranger on fb today because they commented on this meme and said their house doesn't smell like shit because their dog poops in the yard. I asked if they poop in the yard also, because otherwise their house has smelled like shit before... because everybody poops.

Had such a wonderful time this past weekend at the 45th Anniversary of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence! Workshops, ritual, connecting with my fellow Sisters. After 17 years I don't go out as much as I used to, but it's weekends like this that reaffirm my commitment to this unique calling.

I'm in NYC, in Brooklyn, with my husband. We are staying in his grandparents' old apartment sleeping in what was their old bed. They have both passed. This is what is staring down at us.

It was a fun night.
Had an unexpected night last night. Cut myself while opening a package that was delivered. Needed 5 stitches. Now I have a clown finger. I can switch to a band-aid after 2-3 days. I go back in a week to check the stitches. Side note: I'm really good at pointing right now.
