A thread I wrote recently on how anti-transmasculinity traps transmascs into being perceived as women by our enemies (and so abused) and men by our allies (and so excluded), and how that leaves transmascs vulnerable and undercuts broad movements for gender liberation.

There's a misconception that transmasculine people, especially those who identify with the term "man", are "choosing manhood".
I find this to be one of the greatest narrative failures of trans movement work.
If trans people are who we say we are, some of us will be men. They aren't less trans.

Also critically, cis women inflict horrific amounts of violence on transmascs, as is the case with Sam Nordquist. The idea that mascs universally inflict violence on femmes with no exceptions, fucks transmascs in particular. Cis women commit unbelievable gendered violence against transmascs.

A republican is does not give a rat’s ass about your discourse about bi men with girlfriends not really being queer. He sees that guy identifying as bi, and says “He wants to suck dick, he’s a faggot.” He will be subject to the same violence as a gay man. Maybe he can hide a little better. MAYBE.
