I miss the Christmas gators, sigh. It’s going to be almost 80° here and people say it doesn’t feel like Christmas, but some of my favorite holiday memories involve palm trees, hibiscus blooming, and parrots squawking. It’s where I started my tradition of grilling out on Christmas Day.

It was a commonplace lunch or snack in our house. Never thought there was anything strange about it, until I mentioned it to other kids.

I grew up with peanut butter and mustard sandwiches. Still enjoy them. Pickles and onions make it better yet.
