You can get good fried okra from Indian places but boiled peanuts aren't good if they're not from a guy on the side of I-95 wearing a shoulder holster with no shirt, and that's endemic to the region south of NC.

I've seen some galaxy-brained bullshit about how the intention is to force the media to ask Newsom about it so he can tell them to confront the fact that they let similarly deranged stuff from Trump slide constantly, and even if that did happen (it didn't) I don't understand how it would help.

Thanks for that! It seems very smooth and low maintenance to me, better than Clairefontaine and slightly better than Midori, for whatever that's worth from someone who didn't know what Tomoe River was until just now.

I've never used a non-Mnemosyne Maruman, but the Mnemosyne ones are at least marketed as having a different type of paper ("Tomoe River," whatever that is) that is supposedly designedfor fountain pens. It's worked well for me!

Have you tried the Mnemosyne line from Maruman? I really like their dot grid notebooks for using with fountain pens, lots of sizes and cheaper than Leuchtterm, assuming you don't mind spiral bound.

No joke this is my boss's favorite song and she has repeatedly told the story of seeing it performed live in, like, 2017 using the kind of rhapsodic language typically reserved for religious experiences. Apparently they drop fake money from the ceiling when they play the opening bars live.

Imagine having college professors give students individualized feedback instead of grades, though, who could possibly think that would work.

Isn't that out of date? I thought you got promoted to flannel *doofus*.

Thanks! I'll definitely check these both out.

Thank you for offering these recs - I've already found several things to dig into by reading through the thread! Recently really enjoyed The West Passage by Jared Pechaček, and Autobiography of Red by Ann Carson. Not sure if there's much overlap - maybe unconventional/shifting narrative voice?
