But what about the flour that made the bread? Parchment paper that holds the food? the salt, pepper, and oil that prepared the eggs? It’s hard for people to visualize a supply chain lifecycle in its entirety which is why tariffs affect a lot more than just surface level imported goods.

It may be true that some bad actors will use this as a crutch to raise prices. But let’s not forget that we are retracting from a globalist society. Things that seemingly don’t seem like imported goods may very well be if you backtrack to the source.
