Book Rec #4: Articulating Design Decisions

I cannot emphasize enough that you cannot just live in Figma. Visuals alone won't save you. You need to be able to articulate your 'why'. Your ability to communicate each and every decision to stakeholders is just as important as your design ability.

Book Rec #3: About Face

This is basically the Bible when it comes to interaction design. Everything you need to know about interaction design is in this book. If you were to only purchase one book from this list, it should be this IMHO.

Book Rec #2: Don't Make Me Think

This one is a classic. A short read, but a fundamental text on web usability. One of the first to address it too.

Book Rec #1: Thinking in Systems

Don't expect to just live in Figma or adopt the "pixel pusher" mindset. As a product designer you need to be able to understand complex systems and how each part interacts. This is important, more important than becoming a Figma encyclopedia.
