I don’t think he’s saying the club is leftist, I think he’s saying that act of rooting is akin to being a leftist, where it’s too easy to focus on dogmatic preconceptions (i.e. not wanting another Chelsea cast off) instead of on results (i.e. winning). Whether you buy that is a different story…
