We're clear: the Government's proposed asylum reforms will only entrench division and cause serious harm. People who need the UK's protection deserve so much better.

Yvette Cooper was spot on about refugee family reunion – in 2021.

Closing this route risks forcing vulnerable people into the hands of smuggling gangs.

If the Government wants to stop dangerous Channel crossings, there’s a clear solution: open and expand safe routes now.

The Government’s rightly concerned about forcing people seeking asylum onto the streets. Yet they've also decided to halve the ‘move-on’ period for most to just 28 days – a change that will likely push many new refugees into destitution and homelessness. We need this change to urgently be reversed.

Thanks to Baroness Lister for her tireless work toward a permanent 56-day 'move-on' period.

We're proud to be supporting her on this, and to be working with politicians across both houses on this campaign - including Lisa Smart MP and Alex Sobel MP who recently raised key questions on this issue.

We’re honoured that Dame Angela Eagle MP addressed our Strangers to Neighbours conference yesterday.

She paid tribute to the Jewish community’s support for refugees, highlighted action taken to fix the broken asylum system, and called for an approach matching compassion and control.

Today, on Yom HaShoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day – we remember the 6 million Jews, and millions of others, who were murdered in the Holocaust. May their memory be a blessing.

And as we reflect, we too must commit to standing against hatred in all its forms today: wherever and (1/3)

Our community's history of displacement must also be a call for action. This Pesach, let's put our Jewish values into action, and build a UK of compassion and justice for today’s refugees.

Wishing all who are celebrating Chag Pesach Sameach - a very happy Passover.

Great to meet with @peterprinsleymp.bsky.social yesterday. We discussed the importance of compassionate UK asylum policy and opportunities to work together - including around the Border Security, Asylum & Immigration Bill. We're excited to continue building this relationship in the coming months.

We're delighted that Lord Khan is joining us in marking Refugee Shabbat this weekend! It's wonderful to have his support for all taking part.

We're really proud to work in partnership with him, and to have backing from the Government for all the Jewish community does helping refugees.

Our statement on Holocaust Memorial Day 2025:

The 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau comes at a time which feels increasingly precarious and polarised. As we pause to remember those murdered in the Holocaust by the evils of Nazi fascism, we must also ask: (1/6)

We're thoroughly relieved by news that the final people housed on the Bibby Stockholm left the boat earlier this week.

It's appalling that this prison-like ship was ever used as accommodation.

We now need the Government to close similar, detention-style sites across the country.

This #InternationalDayfortheEliminationofViolenceAgainstWomen, we are putting our hands up to say NO to gender-based violence.

We're so proud to work with HIAS, who help displaced people live free from violence by supporting survivors, mitigating risks, and transforming beliefs that perpetuate GBV.
