i've been really curious about the capabilities of open source on-device audio models, so here's a fun little project. this is a conversational agent running fully on-device on my m4 mac mini.

this is using whisper, voixen vad, supertonic tts, and apple foundation for the llm.

this link got 272 clicks which is more clickthroughs than i've seen typically for any post here on threads. i mean obviously there's a bit of a hank green effect, but if i had posted this comment right away or (god forbid) included the link in the post, the engagement would've absolutely tanked

this is a milestone i've been waiting to hit for a long time now. as a parent of young kids, it's so damn difficult to find the time and build the discipline to regularly work out, but with enough diligence, i've finally managed to bench a plate. only up from here 💪
