The weather this week has been a little rough & it’s delayed releasing some of our patients.

Here's a throwback to some woodpigeons we hand-reared & released on site a few weeks ago. They were more than ready to go!

Hopefully the weather will improve soon so we can do some more releases!❤️🪶

Both baby wrens feeding and pooing beautifully this morning. They’re on their way to @follywildlife.bsky.social where the volunteers work in shifts to keep all the baby #birds fed dawn to dusk. 😊

A hedgehog had a good snuffle round our pond looking for snacks last night. The water level is lower than usual due to the weather. It & our wild ‘lawn’ are undoubtedly a welcome feeding area when everything is so dry. @hedgehoghugh.bsky.social @kentwildlife.bsky.social @katebradbury.bsky.social

2/ …Joseph being very cold he made his way to us.

He was very cold & weak on arrival. Warmth, fluids & a full check over were given; luckily he had no injuries.

He’s been in foster care, is coming on in leaps & bounds & is already quite feisty! We‘ll keep you updated on his journey ❤️

1/ Our first badger cub arrived last week. Meet Joseph ❤️

A lady walking her dog found him above ground wickering for mum.

She called Brighton Wildlife Rescue who sadly found a dead female not far from the cub & sett. Joseph had obviously gone looking for her.

Toads seem to spawn about a month after the frogs in our Kent pond. Frog spawning started Feb 23rd. Tonight a toad walked in bang on schedule. I can make out other eyes in the background, but can’t be sure whether they’re frogs or toads. 🐸 💚

So many frogs!!! Our West Kent pond is full of action tonight! We only had 1 blob of spawn this morning. I think there may be rather more on its way! Who needs television at this time of year?!😁 🐸
