Dear hhepodcast listeners. Sorry to announce we are going to have a break in publishing episodes for a little while. This is due to life happening, which is not always conducive to create quality audio entertainment for your discerning ears. Hopefully we'll be back in a bit.

Say hello to Morgan Edge, media magnate, boss of Clark Kent and ordinariy man who definitely isn't harbouring a sinister secret.

Just don't look in that secret file in his desk.

I SAID DON'T LOOK AT IT!

In a special super-episode, Pete and Ryan celebrate the new Superman movie by looking at Journalism in Metropolis during pre-crisis.

Time spent listening will go by faster than, I don't know, something really fast, nothing's springing to mind right now.

No, it's not a cuddling competition. And it's not that either, you perv. It is, of course, Herakles battling Antaeus, as we discovered in our episode on Literature in Morocco during 1500 to 500 BCE.

(actually a 1634 painting by Spanish painter Francisco de Zurbarán)

We head to Morocco in a time before writing, when stories lived in memory and myths roamed the land. Dramatic desert backdrops, surprisingly fun facts, and a muscle-bound Greek hero with a to-do list from hell. Plus, we welcome a mysterious new literary talent.

Al Maqta bridge in Abu Dhabi - before the second bridge was added.

This tower once stood guard over the shallow crossing between Abu Dhabi island and the mainland. Today, it's a curiousity the thousands of cars crossing the nearby Al Maqta bridge on an hourly basis probably don't even notice. Looks great though.

Hey everyone, we forgot to share some pictures that went with our episode on Sudan. This is an image taken and kindly shared by Roberta Gately of the displaced person camp in Sudan.

It's a new episode! Pete and Ryan mount their camels and head off in search of Water in Abu Dhabi in the 1970s, featuring gazelle, concrete, sand and a melancholy bridge that just wants to help you to get home safely.

It's time for the verdict on our episode on first aid in Sudan during 1995 to 2000. Will the judge be won over by gross parasitic worms and the heroes who helped a war-torn nation? Probably not, but you won't be sure unless you tune in and have a listen. Do it!

It's out, the latest HHEPodcast featuring a peanut farmer vs parasitic worms, pointy pyramids, and a first hand insight into life as a humanitarian aid worker! Features some gruesome injury detail, so not for the sensitive.

Is it an ancient depiction of a stegosaurus or simply an itinerant plate-merchant's goods display animal? You decide.

This alleged evidence of ancient knowledge of long-extinct creatures can be found in the Cambodian temple Ta Prohm, and the latest episode of HHEPodcast.

It's time for Judge Dersley to lay down the law on our episode on Psychology in Cambodia during the Neogene. Did naming an ancient ape after the judge pay off, or did we simply unlock his primal rage. Find out.

A real bear, or a man in a bear suit - you decide. Or I guess it could be a bear in a bear suit, just to confuse people. Bears can be tricky like that.
