Unfortunately, yes and just like in traditional carcinization I’m unsure of the evolutionary advantage. Seems more like a bug than a feature.

I believe this is a dendrite which is not a fossil, but is commonly mistaken as one. Usually on limestone they are caused by manganese or iron oxide rich waters that flow into cracks and bedding planes and creates neat branching (dendritic) patterns.

The federal government doesn’t even have that many regulations or guidance on pfas right now and writing an article like Trump might consider it a priority is laughable.
