I mean it’s fair to assume at least a base level of intelligence, even if it’s not applicable in this instance

Storm windows can be such a PITA
November 9, 2025 at 8:56 PM
Oh my gosh I didn’t even see that! You’re right that is weird lol

chime in if you have any of your own!!

6) I try to fix one, maybe two little house problems per week during the winter, since I’m spending much more time inside. You notice them more with extended hours inside!

5) This is an obvious one but change your filter in your HVAC and vacuum around it if you can, mine is always so dusty and it’s not a place I regularly vacuum or clean
November 9, 2025 at 6:42 PM
4) If you have storm windows like we do, keep one or two screens on so you can air out the house after illness or stuffiness #german. We got an air purifier this year and I’m excited to see if it makes a difference with stuffy winter air

3) Water your trees and evergreens deeply before you put the hoses away for the winter; droughts don’t magically stop just because it’s snow instead of rain
November 9, 2025 at 6:42 PM
2) Let there be a “cooling off” period before you put up Christmas decorations. Take a big majority of your regular decor things down on one weekend, then put the Christmas stuff up the next. It makes it much less overwhelming

1) Wash the outside of your windows before it’s too cold (and go ahead and do the inside too). Easier if you have a ranch like we do but do any you can reach, you notice the sun coming through the windows so much more in the winter
