Spent the morning volunteering at the Book Nook for the 40th Anniversary of the Wood Honors College! Such a great little bookstore that does so much work to support our public library ❤️

I’m a firm believer that bookstores and libraries are the backbone of society.

I’m on my reread of Iron Flame in preparation for starting Onyx Storm and this time around I totally caught the reason why Xaden is so insistent on Violent learning how to tie Tyrrish knots. ❤️

The hardest thing about being a fantasy reader is the longing you have to be a part of the world you’re reading about.

Being a writer in an MFA program means consuming overpriced drinks at a reading your professors give then rushing home to finish drowning one of your characters in a short story due tomorrow for class 🤩 #writer #writing

Started a book series. The first one ended on cliff hanger. Realized the second wasn’t out yet. Feeling 😤

Also just a reminder that supporting your local libraries is more important than ever! We need to keep books and information accessible to the public.
If you want to read a new book coming out but don't want to buy it, a great thing you can do is ask your local library to order it. The more requests they get, the more likely they are to acquire it and then lots of people will get to read it who othewise wouldn't.

I've been thinking a lot about the ability of art to fuel resistance in these times, especially as a Creative Writing MFA student. This Ursula K. Le Guin quote felt particularly relevant today.
