Fascinating study. You state the holes are dated to the Late Intermediate Period (AD 1000–1400), but over what time period were the holes excavated? Were holes added incremently, a few every year, or hundreds all together in a new section added?

Interesting how political leaders, of whatever party, suddenly lose their charisma or appeal. Blair probably lost his shine (before Iraq debacle) at Women's Institute in 2000...

The bigger question in this and other such Biblical stories is why anyone (Christian or Jewish) would have respect for, let alone faith, in a God who is clearly cruel, sadistic and basically deranged

Funnily enough, I just bought one for my wife, as one does. Possibly made more recently :-)

Same. My late father (almost same age as Penrose) was in RN but deployed to the East. He never joined British Legion or any other club, and avoided all overt commemorations. Instead he preferred to quietly pay his respects at war memorials that he visited in numerous villages and towns...

Apparently you can pay by card at the exit barrier but probably still a fiddle for many. I've had to install 3 apps on my phone (RingGo, JustPark and PayByPhone) which often don't open or can't connect, which is just the app crap you really don't need...

Dilemma is/was while majority of Labour voters (70%) supported Remain, majority of Labour MPs represent constituencies that had a majority to Leave. Labour should have moved on (and junked Brexit for good) but is still afraid to lose their Leave-supporting voters.

I too like what @zackpolanski.bsky.social is doing and recently joined the Green Party - and I'm definitely not in the youngster category! This was the age group distribution back in 2017. Obviously out of date, but I suspect even more older Greens now. @timbale.bsky.social ?

It's a well-known problem - see King's Fund reports. Sadly, according to @mancunianmedic.bsky.social the situation is unlikely to get better any time soon.
