At work today listening to coworkers talk about their local hospital potentially shutting down due to gov cuts. This is the same hospital I was doing clinicals at in 2016, where the day after the election, I had to listen to all the BS and keep my mouth shut.

I had a long talk with my therapist as I was spiraling, shaking, in tears. I admit, I was naive about the reality of the political landscape for decades--I always felt that no matter who was elected, the bureaucracy would keep us afloat.

Over the past few months, I have been online way too much, and I have learned that people are DUMB. I'm not even talking about politics, or medicine, statistics, etc. People are just DUMB. I don't know what to do with this realization.

If organizations are actually using DEI the way it's supposed to be applied, they ought to be able to keep it up without the label. Unfortunately, I believe most were using it for marketing, not hiring.
