I’m talking to you, Idaho. Who is currently trying to pull money AWAY from our public schools. Who resentfully “enforces” federal standards. Their special education oversight is a joke. Their education manual is copied and pasted from federal guidelines with inconsistent enforcement across schools.

Also guess how many states find the federal funding and regulations insufficient and choose to supplement spending with their own funds, and raise standards for their schools? Who have already essentially taken control over education in their state?

IF THEY WANTED TO, THEY WOULD.

I keep hearing that the federal government doesn’t reimburse enough for education.

Friends. Buddies. Why do you think the government will suddenly spend more in every state once rules and standards are gone?

Some folks are saying that closing the Dept of Ed will help states control education better… all I’m hearing is that their minimum standards are too high. That the IDEA is unnecessary. That equal access to education is unimportant.
