okay update, I've been doing research into cat proofing my tree. no website recommends this, but I once saw something like marketed to cat proof a christmas tree. they're no longer in business. I'd assume this is why -> it's a potted plant protector!! anyone every try this? any reason i shouldn't?

The estimated time to complete the "livable" reno on my house was 3 weeks, meaning this week would be moving week. The house is no where near done, which means I have to pay double the bills. Again.✌️
