On October 4th, a national alert will be sent out to test the alert system around 2:20 pm ET. If you have a hidden phone, like many in a DV situation might, make sure your phone is off. From my understanding, even if it's the next day when you turn it on, it will still go off, so make sure you are in a safe situation when you turn it back on. sincerely hope no one know needs to know this information, but hope it reaches the ones who need to see this. * FEMA will conduct a nationwide test of its Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at approximately 10:20 a.m. AKT. If the October 4 test date is postponed, the back-up testing date will be October 11.
