One of the biggest myths that gets shared is that friendships don't require effort/work. Yes we all may have 1-2 that we can afk from for 6+ months and pick right off, but most friendships require active effort, planning, so on. But with all of us so busy, that's why it's hard to maintain them.

I think one of the type of friends I want to gain are travel friends, whether male or female. (Yes, I think opposite genders can travel platonically. I did it in April!) I find traveling is more enriching with company you enjoy, so I prefer it over solo. Would love to find some more travel friends.

Whether you're desiring friends or romance, you have to be INTENTIONAL. It isn't like when you're younger and the forced get togethers naturally have you making friends. If you aren't intentional about trying, you're always going to be in the same position.

If you're desiring friends, there are lots of ways to try to make new friend. Even dating apps allow you to set it to looking for friends. Join local community groups, join hobby clubs (run clubs, hiking clubs, book clubs, etc) as hobby clubs often meet irl weekly. Join relevant Discords, so on.

I am not an expert but if you are getting more and more figured out and don't adjust, indeed you are getting worse if you're just running into the brick wall ShockedPikachu style.
