At least 154 Palestinian prisoners being freed on Monday as part of the swap for Israeli captives held in Gaza will be forced into exile by Israel, the Palestinian Prisoners' Media Office said. Those to be deported are among a larger group of Palestinians being released by Israel - 250 people held in Israeli prisons along with about 1,700 Palestinians seized from the Gaza Strip during two years of Israel's war, many of whom were "forcibly disappeared", according to the United Nations. For its part, Hamas and other Palestinian groups released 20 Israeli captives under a Gaza ceasefire agreement. There are no details yet about where the freed Palestinians will be sent, but in a previous prisoner release in January, dozens of detainees were deported to countries in the region, including Tunisia, Algeria and Turkiye.

@amysnellingpt If you feel uncomfortable sharing posts about the horrific dystopian things going on in the world in contrast to your normal life - I think that's the point. You must keep living. You must keep finding joy, doing your silly workouts, delight in your iced coffees, send memes, doing the mundane every day admin and stealing small moments of self care. Because you not living, you spiralling into existentialism and despair, disconnecting from the things that give joy - that is giving up. You can't give up on your own life. So be uncomfortable knowing that the discomfort is what spurs you on to keep shouting about it. To keep caring. To keep fighting. Keep going. Sip your iced latte. Email your MP/your reps.

It adds: "I am satisfied that you could return to Brazil and continue your education in Brazil where you would have the option to attend an English-speaking school. "Whilst this may involve a degree of disruption in family life this is considered to be proportionate to the legitimate aim of maintaining effective immigration control." It also states that the need to maintain immigration control "outweighs the possible effect on you".
