A collection of studies and concept art!
A thumbnail of a neighborhood based on the opening shot in the movie “Poltergeist,” a series of houses with a dead tree on an island in the middle of the road. Plus sketch of what I want Carlos’s family house to look like. It’s a little one story house with a porch! Some studies of architecture and buildings for Oakwood Hollow’s Main Street. These sketches include a study of the Jim Trope building, as well as a thumbnail based off of a shot of businesses along a sidewalk. Concept art/a study of a quarry. Oakwood Hollow is a former coal mining town, so I’m trying to get a hang of drawing abandoned mining areas. Studies of a few different angles of a coal mining structure with autumn leaves to add color. A railroad track seems to be leading to a wooden fence in front of a mining conveyer tower.

I tried to replicate how my own larger body shape would look in a sweater like this. The same drawing but with a different sweater! The sun is setting and they’re all bathed in a warm light. Carlos is dressed as a zombie baseball player and eating a reeces cup. Maya is dressed as Kiki from Kiki’s delivery service and eating a chocolate bar. They’re both eating candy from a jack-o’-lantern basket. Naomi, clad in a hooded Mimikyu dress and sitting next to a candy bucket that looks like a goofy smiling ghost, is laughing at something. Ben is leaning forward on a rail in a Ghostbusters uniform holding a pillowcase full of candy. Andi, dressed up as a witch, is leaning back against the same rail, sucking on a candy cane. Robin is dressed as Cowgirl Barbie and wearing her roller skates, closely examining a piece of candy corn. The same drawing I made a couple years ago in 2023! My group of characters from my story, “Oakwood Hollow,” chilling in a cemetery at sunset. Andi and Maya are both sitting with their backs against the tree trunk, with Andi reading a book with a raven on the cover, and Maya playing her ukulele. Robin is looking at a mausoleum in the distance with a cracked angel statue above the entrance, where the door is slightly ajar with someone (or something) peaking outside. Ben and Naomi are studying a tombstone, with Naomi crouched on the ground looking guarded, and Ben leaning down in a more casual manner. The name on the tombstone they’re studying reads, “Xnrts Wthmjxyjw.” Several other tombstones can be seen in the background, with the names being either fictional characters or puns.
