and like…. there fucking ARE frankenstein films directed by women if they’d open their eyes. lisa frankenstein is incredibly underrated. the bride (which is basically the film they all want) comes out next year. the story has been adapted hundreds of times by all kinds of people, gdt’s is valid too.

it also drives me nuts bc the reason most people seem to want a woman director is to girlbossify the story when i hate to break it to them but that’s not what frankenstein is about lmao. gdt gave elizabeth the most personality she’s ever had. and she was written BY ANOTHER WOMAN. that’s the POINT.
