I write you today to urge you to do the same. Beyond being an unjust attack on millions of hard working people in our country and our city, the incoming administration has made it clear that these attacks will not simply stop at immigrants. Their comments make it clear that we are up against a clear and present danger to all minorities, the LGBTQ+ community, the unhoused, the mentally ill, and anyone else not fitting their ideals. I am urging you to follow Denver’s lead. Say no to Trump’s policies. Promise to not devote a single second of our city’s resources or a penny of our city’s budget to assisting in these attacks, and vow to use those resources to resist them. History will judge us on this moment. Please, let us be on the right side of it. Thank you,
