It depicts Dorothy falling from a high building, wispy beautiful clouds all around and spilling onto the surrounding frame, and Dorothy dead and bloodied on the ground. I am much less self conscious than I used to be, but cold emailing & looking at much more accomplished art directors' websites does still kinda make me feel like this

like, zero shade to the OG sculptors who helped build the brand, but KM really jacked the bar up to 11 when she came along IMO

Breyer mold "Action Stock Horse Foal" by Chris Hess. It is a foal appearing to be walking or cantering, with one front leg raised. As an older model, its overall movement and detailing is less intense than Moody's - its legs are all fairly straight, there is less detailing of muscle, and there is limited suggestion of movement in its mane and tail. A watermark identifies the image as being from identifyyourbreyer.com. Breyer mold "Andalusian Stallion" by Kathleen Moody. It is a black Andalusian horse mid-gait, with one front leg raised. Its mane sweeps around its arched neck and its tail appears to flutter like a flag in the wind, individual chunks of hair sculpted out. Might be corny but every time I see a job listing like this for a book designer it sounds so genuinely fun. How do I make a portfolio for THIS type of work lol
LinkedIn job posting for a book designer for Penguin Random House. The listing describes a role managing covers, interiors, and art direction, responsible for guiding layouts and page design, and scouting and collaborating with illustrators. They ask for a candidate with experience who can "hit the ground running" in the role - Erin does not have direct experience here but wishes he did!

I love It's A Wonderful Life for a lot of reasons but one is I love how it handles its storytelling. I feel like this scene is already pretty impactful on its own - we're nearly at the crescendo of the AU arc here - but it's also the moment where They Say The Name Of The Thing
