I think I understand where you are coming from, but there are turkeys, geese, swans, eagles etc that people see often that are the same size or bigger than various penguins.
And even the biggest penguins are still not as big as the actual biggest birds in the world.

Yeah the 3 year old DEFINITELY needs a lot of time and space to move throughout the day. Physically, they are still developing their gross motor skills & muscles 💪🏾 . Mentally, they are still developing their frontal lobe, which controls executive functioning, like reasoning and impulse control. 🧠
