I like Alvaro a lot. He's clearly loyal to the church but also feels like a normal person at the same time. Very natural dialogue too. Good job!

There's a manga you might enjoy,Akumetsu. It's kinda edgy and problematic for other reasons, but it's about a guy with resurrection powers (kinda, no spoilers) killing politicians and corpos in ironic ways.
It never got an anime because all the targets are thinly veiled stand-ins of real people.

One of the ways I heard about getting around the permanent problem would be genetically engineering humans to recognize cybernetics and grow a thin layer of keratin/enamel/horn around the contact points.
Though if you had the tech for that, your bio mods are probably better than cyber anyway.
