I would never recommend doing what I am doing to anyone else 🤣 but im at least happy to say that its been working out for me, although I went into my project with a clear idea that it would be a massive endeavor and I have a lot of help.

I would definitely say so. And to everyone else, I'd absolutely tell them to follow your advice. I think I'm just a special case because whileni *work* in games, I only ever wanted to make the one single game im working on right now.

Unfortunately, I am doing the first thing you said but I have no other method of operation, and it is how I've been my entire life. 😭

Good thing is, me and my team are a few years in and have a good handle on our production at this point and I'm absolutely happy that I can see the finish line!

Unfortunately, I can't say. I will know as we'll get more finished, but conservatively probably 3 more years before we can start a beta phase.
