So I was Kinnu-ing today, as great people do, and I got a question that went something like this: "When you're in love, which hormone is released? A) Serotonin B) Vasopressin" Well, jokes on you, Kinnu—I’ve been studying Cardiovascular Sciences. Why would blood vessels constrict when you're in love? Wouldn’t they expand? So it must be serotonin. INCORRECT. Wha—? So I had to look this up (or ask my good friend ChatGPT), and it turns out vasopressin actually plays a role in forming lifelong bonds with your partner. Now let me tell you guys another fact about vasopressin. Vasopressin is also known as ADH (Anti-Diuretic Hormone). It’s the same hormone that makes more aquaporins available in your kidney’s proximal convoluted tubules, so you reabsorb more water during osmoregulation. So you’re telling me... the same hormone that regulates how much water I piss out is also responsible for helping me form lifelong romantic bonds? The human body is really something.

An extract from my journal, I wrote a few months back is giving me hope in present time.
Soaring above the clouds, they look like little islands made of paper mache; each imperfection and blemish grants them their unique identity, making it impossible to remove your gaze. It reminds me of a time in my chemistry class where I asked why particles tend towards disorder: my teacher answered my query as so: "Well it's only natural, even humans love disorder. If you need an example, just look at how you get up from your seat, just to talk to your friend on the other side of the lab," he had a point, a good one in-fact, which allowed me to understand. I wonder what a life without imperfections wouldlook like. A clean slate, with no problem would only be a blank canvas with no stains, however it happens to be an accumulation of these stains, which lead to a magnificent character, who people cannot ignore. A perfect life would just be merely boring, I think I should have understood this after watching the episode of SpongeBob, where squidward gets his perfect life in a gated community. Actually there's a study (I can't remember exactly which one , rat park study maybe?) rats were given a perfect life and then ended up killing each other out of boredom. So it's all the problems we face and conquer, which is what motivates us to keep going, even though they suck.
