got started on the #09ghoap hybrid-verse wolfdog!soap & dalmatian!ghost fic idea and it's got a pretty strong start to the heat-induced tension i'd say 😌
"I've told you before-" "This is different," Ghost cuts in. "I need this, Cap. I don't want anybody else." Tav narrows his eyes, not wanting to let himself be so easily led in by pretty, pleading words. "You've only ever done casual. With a large part of base's population, might I add. Why can't ya ask one of them?" "Because I don't want them!" It's in a hushed, hissed whisper-yell that makes Tav's ears twitch. "I want you, this, whatever." "It isn't whatever to me." He could do casual, but not within his pack. Not with Ghost or Roach. Not with those who he must lead. There's nothing casual about the way he holds their lives in his hands, and he won't be coerced into changing that. "Goodnight, Ghost." He begins to close the door, only to hear the slam of a palm against the metal, ricocheting down the hallway. There's the sound of someone moving about in their quarters and, to avoid suspicion, Tav grabs Ghost and pulls him into his room, closing the door. He glares at Ghost in the darkness of his room, hating that he's being put in this position. "I'll do whatever you want," comes the whisper, bare and scarred hands pressing against Tav's chest. "Be whatever you need me to be. Help me through this heat and I'll be the best you've ever had." Tav reaches up to wrap his hands around Ghost's wrists, the tension palpable. He doesn't push him away, but doesn't let him progress either. Not until he hears this. "You'll be the best I've ever had, and I'll be the only you ever have again," he murmurs, the words a hungry growl. "I'm not doing casual with my pack. I'm not sharing you with anybody else, no matter how bad you may want it. You are mine and mine alone if we do this. Do you understand?" Ghost nods, the fogginess of need making him pliable in Tav's hands. A dull thudding begins as his tail wags, knocking into the wall periodically.

Logan pulls out his phone, not entirely sure what he's expecting. Johnny already told him he's planning on pulling an all-nighter at the studio, so he's busy. No new notifications. Not that he was expecting anything from Keegan, but he can't stop his stomach from dropping a little in disappointment. Stupid. Get over yourself. He takes a sip of his beer, then another, debating the benefits of knocking back several drinks, when a shadow falls over him. He looks up, and back, eyes widening as he sees a familiar face surrounded by a curtain of black hair grinning down at him. "Hey kid. Ya miss me?" She's wearing a black sweatshirt dress that falls to mid thigh, with fishnets adorning her legs. Her boots add some extra height, laced up above her ankle with dark socks peeking out above the top of the boot. She's holding a box of wine coolers against her hip like a soccer ball, her weight shifted onto one leg, her other hand on her hip as she smiles down at him. More than you can imagine, Logan thinks. He swallows, feeling his face flush. He just waves a little, unable to conjure up anything else, and to his relief Keegan just laughs.

title: the things we lost (and gained) in the fire by hexcursed and toastyjam. summary: Logan's life fell apart a few months ago, ending in a brief inpatient stay. Now he's scrounging for muse anywhere he can find it, hoping to avoid his family's further concern. Everything changes at a company party over the summer, where he meets Keegan, one of his father's co-workers and higher ups in Phantom Tech. Suddenly his muse is back, and it looks, sounds, and acts a lot like Keegan. Part of him worries that he's not ready for a relationship again, but with Keegan, nothing hurts and everything is wonderful. Logan's making art again too, which is the biggest relief, since he's depending on the Winter Showcase to fix up his art school career from the disaster that was last semester. But some wounds don't want to stay closed, no matter how hard you try. (Happy ending ensured!)
