There is no reason Carney cannot use the law and health fund transfers to the provinces to compel them to properly fund Medicare. Aging Boomers will mean far more must be spent on healthcare than we've been used to spending. But it's higher taxes or our collective health suffers.

So they now know conclusively how and where the virus started? If so, I missed it. Stewart was speculating, not claiming certainty. There is evidence it may have been manufactured. It was a better theory than the wet market.

Watch the clip that has sparked the outrage. Stewart isn't shaming sick people who wear masks from trying not to spread their germs. His flippant remarks are worthy of outrage only to those busy bodies who are not happy unless they're on their high horse preaching.

Pseudoscience deserves mockery, if that is what he was doing. I highly doubt that Stewart was mocking those who are immunocompromised. That does not fit the decades of commentary by this man.

Insults rather than reason is the MO of the Right. You've studiously avoided engaging in any substantive analysis. Another MO of the right. Read Martina Navratilova if you're such a fan of reading.

As much as I detest Trump and his sycophants, this quote does not equate Trump with God. She likely meant that she believes that Trump is Gods choice and champion (total BS!) so to turn from Trump is to turn from God. We need less hyperbole, not more.

Like most women in sports, I'm for fair competition. That's why sports is separated into the two sexes. Elite male athletes are stronger and faster. Fact. If a weaker, slower athlete wants to compete I suppose they can. It would only be unfair to them.

Chief among its weaknesses is its characterization of trickle down economics and minimizing workers. The more accurate picture of a capitalist economy is wealth rising from the many at the bottom to the privileged few at the top.

Was he? But his famous quote makes an important point. Nothing is ever resolved or proven by a semantic sleight of hand. A trans woman should be free from discrimination and hate. That doesn't mean we should pretend they are what they clearly are not.

If you read the thread you'd see that the reference to sports was by way of making a larger point. But on sports...the advantage of being born male can be offset for some women by better technique, training, etc. Most female athletes find it unfair. Are they just being babies?

The IOC and various other organizations have done a lot of research. They concluded that the physical differences between trans women and women mean very real differences in competitiveness.
A rose by any other name...
