i started watching anime on toonami with my mom and omg 💀💀💀 i had to start telling my mom to basically completely ignore the actions of certain characters because they were so weird and i didn't want her to think all anime was like that

i'm SO glad someone else said this, ugh 😭 gentle villain was written so much better than overhaul was. there's empathy built for his character and his sidekick [can't remember her name off-hand], completely opposite what they did with overhaul. and then that whole arc was just super predictable, idk

the ending too </3 but yeah, i agree entirely. dandadan is full of so much objectively weird stuff. i feel like most of the fanbase chooses to turn a blind eye to everything because it's shounen and shounen anime is always held on such a pedestal, no matter how bad the actual story is.
