For 90 mins last night a sold out crowd in Hackney forgot the craziness happening in the world & focused on the Legend Thurston Moore. What a great musician, & there was the added bonus of the brilliant Debbie Googe from MBV on bass. He even brought his dogs on stage at one point for good measure 🙌

Another two gigs to add to the 2025 list this week. Firstly, Gorillaz were wonderful at the Copper Box on Wednesday. Great new album showcased, loads of special guests. No photos as no phones allowed. Then Hot Chip were brilliant as always at Troxy last night. Love ‘em.

Haim. What a band. What a venue! They ‘quit’ the stage suddenly at the end of the set. Not quite sure what happened but they were their usual entertaining selves throughout otherwise 🫶

Do You Remember The First Time? (Seeing Pulp, that is). For me it was Reading ‘94 sandwiched in between Terrorvision & Radiohead mid-afternoon. They were great that day but yesterday’s gig was the best I’ve seen them yet, just amazing! Goosebumps definitely still prevalent in everyone who was there.

8th gig of 2025 done! One of the most beautiful, mesmerising gigs I’ve been to. I’ve never known less people talking at a gig, everyone was in awe of the wonderful Lael Neale. Fabulous.

Gig 7 of the year done and dusted. Supergrass sounding as good as they did the last time we saw them just before lockdown. What a band!
May 23, 2025 at 9:10 PM
Gig 6 of the year done and one of the best so far. Self Esteem’s ‘A Complicated Woman’ was 70 minutes of brilliant storytelling, theatrics and fabulous music. Wow.
April 18, 2025 at 11:42 AM
5th gig of the year done. Old Dirty Brasstards were as good as always playing some crackin’ Guilty Pleasures (‘Toxic’, ‘About You Now’) and ending with my karaoke go to song ‘All These Things That I’ve Done’. Love ‘em.
April 12, 2025 at 2:33 PM
Spiritualized were amazing at The Barbican last night playing ‘Pure Phase’ in its entirety (followed by an encore of ‘Cop Shoot Cop’). ‘Let it Flow’ was just beautiful. Great gig.

Gig 3 of the year done! Brand New Legs were awesome, they just get better every time I see them. Tote bag merch purchased and got a bonus selfie with lead singer Jen & her friend Cat. Top night.
