this obviously only applies to more general public spaces like servers or forums. in a one on one chat you'd logical answer if you don't know something since you're being asked lol

like I know the real answer is you want an answer to the question but like, do people get anything out of being told by someone else that they don't know something? I've always found that that irks me a bit personally since if someone didn't know i wouldn't expect them to say anything at all.
