I'm a cartoon character that was cancelled from the Nepali Times a decade ago, but I just won't go away and die.
There was always a morality in Herojig cartoons. This strip on drugs (back in the 2000s) is ironic, as the author did check into a rehab in 2023. More to come on that...

All of my cartoons were tied to my work at www.animalnepal.org.np, where I worked for the welfare of elephants, donkeys, pets and yes, even chickens...

Back in 2004, AIDs and condoms were both a new concept in Nepal, and here is a cartoon that commemorates World Aids Day and the introduction of free condoms.

"Where's WaldoJi" was an actual coloring book where readers of the newspaper could win prizes each week if they could find our Heroji within the Find WaldoJi frame.

Most of my cartoons of this era (2003 to 2007) were "instructional" and played off a random fact, like the origin of the word soccer :)

All the cartoons were "drawn" on the premise there was a comparison to be made between East and West in the Nepali / American context. Here is a prime example:

Here is just one example of the cartoon that ran in the Nepali Times from 2003 to 2006, every Friday on the back page. Most were lost after I was cancelled and the servers at the paper were scrubbed. Then I lost all the source cartoons on Mt. Everest (more on that later).

The cartoon that caused an uproar! Lots of tire burnings and death threats... Who would have known that Mark Twain could be so subversive...
