Picked up "Doll Parts" by Penny Zang after seeing some reviews.

The combo of coming of age, Sylvia Plath, college campus & a mystery piqued my interest.

Have you read "Doll Parts"?

Just picked up "Workhorse" by Caroline Palmer.

The early 2000's class divide is painfully prescient as is the focus on female ambition. This may be a top read of 2025.

Have you picked up "Workhorse"?

Finished reading "The Dead Husband's Cookbook" by Danielle Valentine. It echoes "Gone Girl" & other well-known thrillers.

The tension between a stressed book editor & prickly celebrity client will keep you turning pages!

Has anyone read Jessa Maxwell?

If you're a fan of murder mysteries with female leads, I would recommend them.

Happy reading!

Just started reading "Jill is not happy" by Kaira Rouda.

It's earned a 3.3/5 on Goodreads, but I am intrigued by the premise.

An unhappily married couple takes a road trip & some unpleasant truths come to light.

Have you read this or any of Rouda's work?

A big thank-you to the Bexley Public Library for hosting the Local Author Festival for another year.

Nearly 40 authors connected with readers to celebrate Ohio literature. A fantastic time was had!

Hyped new book, "The Compound" by Aisling Rawle, delivered!

Set on a reality TV show & told from one POV, the debut offers commentary on class, gender & materialism.

Recommended for lovers of "Love Island," "Survivor" & "Big Brother."

Lisa Jewell's new book, "Don't Let Him In," is a slow-burn tale of multiple women duped by the same manipulative man.

It explores toxic masculinity, why women ignore warning signs, and how women can unite against predators.

Great book club read!

Met so many fantastic authors at this weekend's Columbus Book Fest.

My favorites were Neena Viel, Cynthia Pelayo & Clemence Michallon. All 3 write books about women's struggles with different inspirations.

"The Ghostwriter" by @julieclarkauthor.bsky.social delivers a slow-burn murder mystery investigation with a lot of heart.

Recommended for readers who enjoy damaged female characters and good genre fiction.

My rating is 3.75 stars out of 5.

Still thinking about "Eat the Ones You Love" by Sarah Maria Griffin.

The story of sapphic love in a decrepit shopping center is a slow-burn character study with an evil orchid as its villain.

There's humor, body gore, & several POVs.

Finished a debut novel that left me feeling slightly disappointed.

"Ruth Run" by Elizabeth Kaufman is a cybercrime thriller about a woman on the run from the feds after stealing nearly $1B from banks.

It's a fast read with an anticlimactic ending.

I'm slowly making my way through "She's a Lamb," a new "feel bad" book about the struggles of an aspiring musical theater actress.

It's dark, sad, and surprisingly funny.

Have you read "She's a Lamb" by Meredith Hambrock?

Do you enjoy satire or books about actors?

Have you read either of Maud Ventura's books?

Just got "Make Me Famous" from the library & am excited to start it. Cléo, 33, is a successful singer on vacation who's reflecting on her past. It's got a starred review from @publisherswkly.bsky.social.

"Victorian Psycho" by Virginia Feito is an unsetting work of historical fiction.

The descriptions of food & violence left me a bit queasy, but I appreciated the details & character development. "Jane Eyre" it's not.

Heard good things about the "Sweetpea" series by C.J. Skuse.

With 5 books about Rhiannon killing people, there's a lot to read!

There's also a Sky Atlantic TV series starring Ella Purnell.

Have you read the books or watched the series?

Do you recommend them?
