It’s Saturday afternoon, so that means I’m scouring the picks on Criterion Channel. Found this gem with a title that grabbed my attention.

Currently:
“When A Woman Ascends the Stairs (1960)” by Mikio Naruse

Depending on the mood, I take Friday evenings or Saturday mornings to cook a great meal and enjoy an old film.

Tonight’s chill: steak, sautéed broccoli, rice + peas with a cup of Riesling and pecan pie for dessert.

Film: Barton Fink (1991) for the first time a la Criterion’s Coen Bros collection.

I passed by the Center for Fiction today and they have a section where they cover up a book so you can only judge it based off its first line.
