the piece of blue eggshell from a forest songbird broke and I lost most of the tiny fragments, sad about the dwindling of the birds and the blues of the world

Joumana Medlej on bluesky @majnouna.com sees their fellows & sisters in an illuminated ms, w/ rendering of birdsong as botanical music notation. Can see these when birds chant on cold mornings. Want to draw some, the inky wispy outlines. Mourning loss of birds, defend their thickets & sanctuaries

my altered foto crop circle French hayfields design suggestion for Tour de France village art, all credit to Roubaix mural painter (& Pieter Breughel the Elder). If I could be in France, I'd wear a Liberté crown costume and watch the bicycles go by between my anguished fingers

Merde alors "The 2025 Tour de France will not be heading over the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix, despite its Grand Départ taking place in Lille & the Nord Dept, it was revealed on Thurs" -Quick, amis, paint or project this image all along route! SF, so moving to gather at Dolores Park (*mass graveyard of indigenous Californians in the detention center that was Mission Dolores, 1700s & 1800s)
No Kings, 6.14.25. Born in SF, still lamenting loss of artists & poets in tech invasions, miss my old city, sanctuary city, loved coming back for this

San Francisco, no kings day
June 16, 2025 at 6:20 PM
detail of crowd scene, San Francisco no kings march, thousands gathered on Dolores St, Mission District, at the start of the march--still arriving, not proceeding yet, profound intention, peaceful.

and then leaving San Francisco after the No Kings march on Saturday, crossed the GGBridge, saw this (the resistance will keep growing)

San Francisco 6.14.25, Dolores Park gathering thousands for the No Kings march, country so f***ed up even the introverts came out. I felt better about my old city again, hated how it changed after being overrun by tech, lost so many artists, but ever a sanctuary city. Glad I came back for this day.

another tableau, 1290s, Basilica di S. Francesco, Assisi. I've been talking to a dear friend from Argentina. She recalls when she was a student, 1970s, before she escaped w/ her life, how quickly things changed from a vibrant time of creativity & resistance, to when disappearances & state murder hit

if we can afford, purchase used copies of essential books and share in little free libraries and leave in coffee shops especially if you have safe access to communities suffering book bans

grief, rage for lost ancient trees & loss of native habitats. Here there is a new order for large timber harvests in national forests including old growth. I still mourn this canyon live* oak that was illegally felled to shed sun on an illegal cannabis grow, 12 years ago. It was full of birds. 🧵

What is the hold up, time's up, need new gov't. Want to reclaim color red. (Blue is beautiful, but also like to wear red. Don't want to wear red while fascists steal it.) Liberate red! Will need some time to let the nightmare fade, then red can be the freed choice of simpatica/o humans again. 🧵

oh I miss the osso buco I grew up with. Simply topped w/ lemon zest, parsley. Yours looks so good too. At an Italian restaurant in Petaluma, not on menu but I said "osso buco..." Waiter nodded & put pen to paper, stopped, & said "Osso buco, non c'è!" I don't even remember what I asked for instead 🧵
