Avoiding the other place
And because they think in terms of costs, efficiencies, results, and profits miss the point entirely.

I think, without any evidence, that many execs are people who have NEVER dedicated much of their own energy or thought to any creative process. AI is the first time they have ever allowed themselves to think about it, and it’s like giving a 4 year old a blank tablet and a new box of crayons.

Oh no doubt. I think west Texas wins hands down, but we Washingtonians are soft when it comes to dust storms.

There is so much written about this. If tis it’s clear and easily quantifiable - people know. See SSA Retirement benefits and the post office. If it’s ambiguous and hard to measure, almost impossible. See SSA Dib and endangered species act.

Nothing quite like a SE Washington dust storm.

I mean I’m no fan of the jets but not sure I’d even wish that on them.

My youngest daughter got to be the tee-hawk at the Seahawk game!

I can’t be the only one secretly amused that it looked just like a publicity shot for The West Wing.

I saw that MOTO was the post game meal yesterday. How is that decided? A rotation? A vote? John Schnieder’s whims? What other local places have been enjoyed in the Seahawks locker room?!?

It boggles the mind.

One other example I can share that offers insight into his (and I suspect others) mindset. Before a HUGE game, when visiting my daughter (she was sick, she’s good now, and why we met) he asked her to tell him from what distance he’d make the winning kick. Then he asked her right or left hash.

That said, one of the things he did say was a ‘challenge’ was having to play every minute of the preseason games (along with the punter and long snapper) because there weren’t any back ups for them.

A kicker faces vastly different challenges from a QB just like a pinch hitter has vastly different challenges than a starting pitcher. Harder? 🤷‍♂️.

I actually know a former one! And my answer is I’m not sure. Bottom line for me, I don’t think the average person/fan has one iota of an idea about the mental load of being professional athlete. 100% on, all the time, every moment while at work.
December 15, 2025 at 3:34 AM
That was a stressful one

Fires up the crowd though.

Rest assure they played in lots in stadium. About as often as I’ve ever see them replay something.

And only the most skunked of beers.

Tangentially related used to walk past one on my get out of the office break walk and spent an embarrassing amount of time thinking about under what circumstances would I choose to make that my coffee stand of choice.
December 13, 2025 at 2:28 AM
Nope. We’ve got some work contractors who hit the same stand every visit.

Just having that conversation in the office when boss asked about week before Christmas and reply was ‘you mean next week’.
December 11, 2025 at 7:43 PM
Hausch$ seconds.
December 10, 2025 at 4:01 PM
That’s too mean. I played her the Conan/Arnett/Bateman thing instead.
