Remembering musician Jimmy Cliff today.

First saw the movie in 1973, then went out the next day and bought the album

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Something special in the aura of the evening light. We watch the waves reflect the setting sun & slowly absorb the transition of day into night. Alki Beach in West Seattle is a great place for one such reflection.

Underneath the streets of Manhattan, the #1 line of the NYC subway runs back & forth from the South Ferry in the Battery to uptown in Harlem. Two glimpses here caught on my Nikon D-3300 waiting for the train to arrive & aboard.

There are certain places on earth that leave your mouth wide open in awe & your brain trying to navigate the distance between when these land formations first appeared & the present moment. My Nikon D-3300 lives for these moments.

I am completely awestruck by the ease with which Mike Johnson lies on a daily basis. I'll never understand how such a transparently fraudulent "man of faith" can live with themselves. Life is too short to be that phony.

Many people drive hundreds of miles to get a glimpse of autumn colors & the trees with multi-colored leafs. For me, it’s a 1 mile walk to the north out my door along Lake Washington Blvd S in mid-October.

Applause everyone! I did not see this when I went onto my patio this morning, but at 3pm, this remarkable arachnid had spun quite the web.

Won’t make it for a Hallowe’een decoration though.

In what is now Macon, Georgia, indigenous people lived on a thriving society over 1000 years ago. They were incredible artisans, creating beautiful earthenware pottery. Happy Indigenous People’s Day.
