Also: shouldn’t this become a rally call for an (open) public digital AI infrastructure, to ensure that these solutions are not only capital but also added value available to as many as possible?

Interesting reply. Especially the “since AI is resource intensive, high valuation is needed for the high burn rates, not necessarily added or monetary value”. I wonder what the ROI projections would be for investors? Is it the FOMO and hope for first-movers-advantage?

I understand the loss of the community is hurting many people, and is profound. Yet this ban has other reasons than (only) US politics: strong evidence of invasion of privacy by a state actor on a huge scale. Shouldn’t this be more about building sustainable communities online than just TT??
